CBCF 9 News 9 Training for the Trades Scholarships Offered to Area Workers

The Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF) Board of Directors announces the availability
of $100,000 in scholarships targeted for area workers who wish to further their education to
enhance their careers.

Named “Training for the Trades” this one-time grant will award approximately 50 scholarships
to local residents already in the workforce for certificate programs at Del Mar College (DMC),
Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend (CTC) and Coastal Bend College (CBC). Applicants
do not need to be currently working in technical/vocational fields.

Beginning on May 1, interested workers can access scholarship eligibility/guidelines and
application on the CBCF website, www.cbcfoundation.org or at the financial aid offices at
DMC, CTC or CBC. Scholarship applications must be submitted to DMC, CTC or CBC on or
before August 1. The scholarships are renewable for up to one additional term upon satisfactory
completion of the first term.
