CBCF 9 News 9 Coastal Bend Community Foundation Recently Received Re-accreditation with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations™

Coastal Bend Community Foundation has recently been re-accredited with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations™—the highest standards for philanthropic excellence. The Foundation first received National Standards accreditation in 2008.

National Standards Seal We work to support the causes our community cares about, from supporting the arts and culture to education, families and children. National Standards says that we meet the most rigorous standards in philanthropy and is a promise to our community that we’ll continue to do this good work together, right here in Coastal Bend.

National Standards is not mandatory. We chose to go above and beyond by affirming our commitment to excellence and accountability. Our re-accreditation provides assurance that we have sound policies and practices in place. In short, it means we meet the highest standards for local giving.

The National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations™ program requires community foundations to renew their accreditation by updating their policies for donor services, investments, grantmaking and administration. With over 500 community foundations accredited nationwide, the program is designed to provide quality assurance to donors, as well as to professional advisors.

The National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations™ program was established in 2000 in cooperation with the Council on Foundations. For more information about National Standards, visit www.cfstandards.org.
