Grants are made only to non-profit organizations that have federal tax-exempt status – 501(c)(3).
Grants are made only in the seven-county area of Texas served by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, unless otherwise designated by donors (Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio and San Patricio).
Grants are usually made to provide seed money for innovative and start-up programs that will generate additional future funding or revenues. Capital projects and other special projects will also receive favorable consideration. A lower priority will be given to proposals seeking operating funds.
Preference is given to proposals supporting direct human services and one-time grants not requiring additional funding.
Priority is given to applications having direct relevance to solving the problems and improving the quality of life of people living in the Coastal Bend area of Texas.
All applicants must provide information to the Community Foundation showing that sound business procedures and proper accountability policies are defined and implemented by the managing board and employees. (See information below.)
The Board of Directors of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation must approve all grants.
Grants are not made for religious purposes; to individuals, school groups or athletic teams. Trips of any kind are not funded.
Grants are not made to federal, state, county or municipal governments or school districts. |
