2008 CBCF Scholarships Using the Common Application
The following scholarships require that you complete the 2008 CBCF Common Scholarship Application. Click on the link below to access the application. The deadline for these scholarships is March 14, 2008. For additional information on specific scholarships, click on the appropriate link next to each named scholarship. Eligibility: One male and one female graduating senior member of the Mary Carroll High School band and one male and one female member of the Mary Carroll High School soccer teams.
Eligibility: Students graduating from high school, those who have earned their GED certificate or current college students at Del Mar College or Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. A preference will be given to students living at home while attending college.
Eligibility: High school seniors or graduates of a Coastal Bend high school pursing a liberal arts degree with a major in history, political science, music or education.
Eligibility: Mary Carroll High School senior with preference given to Tigerette Drill Team members and/or members of the National Honor Society, students planning to study pre-law, education or nursing at Del Mar College or Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Eligibility: A senior graduating from a Coastal Bend High School, a member or honorably discharged veteran of the armed services or an R.O.T.C. member.
Eligibility: High school juniors or seniors attending a Coastal Bend high school. Preference will be given to those who are taking advanced placement mathematics or science classes and are involved in extra-curricular science and science groups such as Science Talent Search, Science/Chemistry Olympiad, and Research Institute.
Eligibility: Coastal Bend or Calhoun County home-schooled students who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students planning to study a business-related curriculum and who are interested in entrepreneurship.
Eligibility: Graduating Coastal Bend high school students or employees or immediate family members of employees of the South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind.
Eligibility: High school seniors and college students who are children of uniformed and volunteer firefighters for a fire department located in the Coastal Bend.
Eligibility: Students graduating from Miller or Moody high schools with a preference for students who attended Los Encinos, Lamar or Lozano elementary schools for at least one year.
Eligibility: High school seniors graduating at the end of the spring semester. Recipients must be planning to become a teacher or public school administrator.
