BECK - O.J. BECK, JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose: | In memory of O.J. (Junior) Beck, Jr., a respected general contractor and builder in the Coastal Bend with a reputation for attention to his projects and friendly relations with owners. He served his community as a member, director, vice president and president of the South Texas Chapter of the Association of General Contractors, the Business Development Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Ada Wilson Hospital, United Way, YWCA and many other organizations. He came to an untimely death on April 15, 1982. | Amount: | Up to $2,000/one available (This scholarship is renewable.) | Eligibility: | Applicants must: - be a student at Texas A&M University - College Station seeking a bachelor’s degree in building construction;
- demonstrate financial need, and;
- maintain a residence in the area served by the South Texas Chapter of Associated General Contractors (22 counties).
