Purpose:
Established by the W.B. Ray High School Class of 1956 in honor of classmate Averill Johnson, for graduating seniors of W.B. Ray High School.

Eligibility:
W.B. Ray high school seniors in the top 10% of their graduating class;
enroll as a fulltime (12 semester hours) student in an accredited college or university in the United States in the fall semester following graduation;
