Established by Kevin Saunders to help provide an opportunity for people permanently confined to a wheelchair to attend college or technical school. Kevin suffered massive injuries in a grain dust explosion that threw him 300 feet into the air and on to a cement parking lot when he was inspecting a grain elevator in Corpus Christi in 1981. As a result of his injuries, Kevin is a paraplegic. He is also a world champion athlete, and served on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under both President George H. Bush and President William J. Clinton; the only person on that committee appointed to serve under two presidents.
