BURNEY - CECIL E. BURNEY SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose: | This scholarship memorializes Cecil E. Burney, founder and president of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation from 1981 to 1989. He was a prominent attorney, banker, community leader and historian who served as president of numerous local, state and national non-profit organizations and associations. | Amount: | $2,000 ($1,000 per semester)/one available | Eligibility: | Applicants must: - be a high school senior or graduate of a Coastal Bend* high school pursing a liberal arts degree with a major in history, political science, music or education;
- have a high school GPA of 90 percent or higher;
- maintain at least 12 hours per semester and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
- attend Coastal Bend College, Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi or Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
