Purpose: Established in memory of Sue Kay Lay, a Baker Junior High School student killed in an automobile accident on June 23, 1970, while visiting the family ranch in Brackettville, Texas. She was 13 years old at the time.
Eligibility: Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating senior from any high school in the CBCF seven-county service area
  • Be a permanent resident of the CBCF seven-county service area
  • Be enrolled full-time at any accredited college or university in the United States
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale to receive subsequent 3 years
