Recent Grants from Unrestricted and Field of Interest Funds

  • Kingsville Symphony Orchestra, $7,000 to support the first concert of the 2012 season with world renowned violinist Misha Keylin
  • Texas A & M Corpus Christi, $7,500 to start an Information Security training program for veterans to help address the critical issue of employment for men and women who have served in the armed forces
  • Texas State Aquarium, $10,000 to support a Dollar Day event on November 11, 2012. These events typically draw up to 6,000 visitors – children and their families – to the Aquarium
  • First United Methodist Church Corpus Christi, $7,500 to help the elderly disadvantaged with medical and other needs
  • Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend, $6,330 for new computers for employees who work with sexually and severely physically abused children, child witnesses to violent crime and non-offending family members. Over 9,300 services were provided in 2011
  • Coastal Bend College, $2,000 for a dental hygiene outreach program that trains hygiene students while providing much needed dental care to hundreds of elementary school students
  • Boys and Girls Club of Corpus Christi, $10,000 for summer programming that provides over 500 youth at the Greenwood and Robstown Clubs with nurturing structure, academic stimulus and organized physical activities
